How to Get
Apart from the door to door transfer, you can make your way to The Yellow House as follows:
From the airport, we suggest taking a taxi to “Pajaritos” (Bus Terminal). Be sure to establish the fare before you commit to a driver or take the Airport bus to “Pajaraitos”. At Pajaritos ,take either a Pullman or Turbus bus to Valparaiso. They pass every 15 or 20 minutes and the journey takes about 90 minutes. They issue a receipt for your luggage which is carried on the side of the bus.
Any bus that has ADUANA written on the front will bring you to heritage Customs Building which is located alongside “our” ascensor, “Ascensor Artillería”. We recommend taking a taxi, though. Take the side exit from the bus terminal (rather than the one onto the main street), give them our address and they will bring you here. Once here, we can help you get orientated explaining a good quality map and then you can set about exploring the city.
NB. Security is a very important issue in Valparaíso, especially at the bus terminal and on the local buses, so take particular care of your belongings there. Crime involving tourists such as the snatching of cameras, bags and wallets is unfortunately not uncommon.
Take the usually very reliable underground Santiago Metro system to the Central Bus Terminal if there is a station located close by to your accommodation. This costs a few hundred pesos and operates very frequently. Alternatively, take a taxi since there are plentiful and fairly inexpensive in Santiago. At the Bus Terminal, take either a Pullman or Turbus bus to Valparaiso. The bus operates every 15 or 20 minutes and the trip takes about 90 minutes. They issue a receipt for your luggage which is carried on the side of the bus.
